Today our plans are to visit the British Museum and the famous Princess Louise Pub, where we ended up having lunch. The Princess Louise Pub is renown as one of the best pubs in London to capture the English pub experience. Of course we had “Fish and Chips”. Visiting the British Museum is like visiting the Louvre in Paris. It can take days to see everything, but we only had a day to see much of what was taken from the Greeks and the Egyptians was our focus. The best way to get around in London in by using their subway system, known as the "Tube". You can buy an "Oyster Pass" that can take you virtually every where you want to go. So, I will start with a couple pictures of the "Tube". |

Athens ExhibitThese artifacts where taken from the Acropolis in Athens by the British. The Greek government has requested that they be returned several times, but to no avail. The British believe that they are safer in the British Museum. Initially the British said that the Greek museum was not suitable for housing the precious artifact. So Greece built the New Acropolis Museum. The British now say that they don't want to "set a president" by returning national artifacts. |
